Day Three Bahamas Trip

It is another windy cooler day.
We decided to take a private tour of the island
My in-laws found a guy willing to drive us around
and show us the island for the day for a good price.
It is best to ask around about tours
sometimes you can get a better price by
booking close to the tour day.

Bahamas also has a program called
People to People
where you get a tour from a local
I am not sure what the prices run but I heard they are reasonable

First stop was a cave that natives used to live in.
And slaves at one time hid in.

We then headed to Jaws Beach where parts of the movie Jaws was filmed.

A house where they filmed a James Bond movie.
He told us but I can't remember which one
The factory that makes the local beer called Kalik
They don't allow tours unfortunately

We drove to a local art gallery but they were closed.
We also drove passed the old Baccardi factory that closed a few years ago.
I felt like he drug the tour out in the end by driving very slow.
It was an okay tour but felt we could he could have showed us more for the time we had. A good portion was spent driving on roads with nothing to see well below the speed limit.
I recommend get referrals for a tour.
That way you get a tourist honest opinion.
A good place to check is tripadvisor.com
I find a lot of great tips there.
Check that cities forum.
That is where I find out the most info.
You can even ask questions and the people are very helpful

  1. I guess there is much more to the Bahamas than I thought there was. It's too bad they don't allow tours of the beer factory though. I would just love to go exploring in there.
